Where to buy crypto

I get a lot of questions on the best place to buy crypto, so I thought that I would just put my thoughts to paper (or screen even!)

It all very much depends on where you are based, but here is my general rule of thumb;

  • Worldwide - Coinbase

  • Europe - Bitpanda

Here’s why;

Coinbase

Coinbase is arguably, now, the largest crypto exchange in the world (since Binance has been slaughtered by the FCA).

I am aware that if you ever need to contact customer support, you will end up having a torturous experience to get through but I believe this should change in the coming months now that Coinbase is holding itself to higher standards.

This could be evidenced by the recent announcement that if your Coinbase account is ever hacked into and funds were stolen, you will be reimbursed up to £150,000 (pending a police report because it is theft but supported by Coinbase).

I think that this is a huge bonus for anyone who holds worries about crypto site security.

My favourite feature though?

Coinbase Earn

Once you have signed up to Coinbase you will have access to this little area of Coinbase. You just have to watch videos and answer questions (which you can Google the answers for) and you get paid in crypto.

This is over £30 as soon as you sign up that you can either withdraw as cash, or you can convert it to any other crypto!

Bitpanda

Bitpanda is an up-and-coming crypto exchange valued at ~$4 billion which has a stronger app and web browser than Coinbase in my opinion, showing you profit/loss on timeframes, individual cryptos, and you can also buy stocks!

However, everything is in Euros which is slightly confusing to visualise as a Brit but with a quick Google search, I can check how much my portfolio is worth in GBP.

If you are located in Europe, I would highly recommend giving this a go and see how you find it because it is a really great platform.

Plus we have a referral offer that means you can bag €10 when you buy €25 of crypto (just make sure you have no adblockers turned on) plus there’s a quiz where you can earn another €5 of crypto!

Check out this offer here: https://www.bitpanda.com/?ref=680308674454816647

And just in case you are thinking that we have only picked the two where we get referrals, we could also tell you to sign up to Luno, Mode, Swissborg, Gemini, Binance, Blockfi, FTX, OKCoin, etc… however, these just don’t fit the cut to be your main crypto exchange!

I have a little crypto in each of the above just to test them all out to ensure that I am only recommending the very best for you. Coinbase and Bitpanda are the winners!
