How to Get 666 Free Drinks in a Year

I am staggered and haunted by this number of free drinks as well, but after some quick calculations that’s where we’ve got to! Here’s a breakdown of how to get 666 free hot drinks over the next 12 months:

Get a Free Drink Everyday with Waitrose - 362 drinks

If you join Waitrose’s MyWaitrose loyalty scheme, you can get a free hot drink from their machines every single day with no purchase required. The only catch is that you need to take a reusable coffee cup to fill.

I have worked out that Waitrose typically shut 3 days per year (Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year’s Day) so if you really wanted you could get 362 free coffees!

Get a Free Drink Monday - Friday with IKEA - 250 drinks

If you join IKEA’s Family Card loyalty scheme, you can get a free hot drink Monday - Friday with no purchase required. You can also get as many as you like with just one card so you could get the whole family a hot drink, in theory!

Let’s say you go once a day whenever it’s available and take into account Bank Holidays and closures and I reckon we can get to 250 drinks!

Get a Free Drink Every Week with Octopus Energy - 52 drinks

If you join Octopus Energy’s Octoplus rewards scheme, you can get a free hot drink every week from either Greggs or Caffé Nero.

No purchase required, just get the QR code from the app! One per week comes out to 52 free drinks!

Get a Free Drink + Birthday Freebie from Greggs - 1 drink

Speaking of Greggs, download their app and you can get a free hot drink for doing so. Plus, let them know your birthday and they’ll give you a free sweet treat.

Get a Free Drink + Cake from John Lewis - 1 drink

Waitrose’s sister company, John Lewis, isn’t quite so generous but still has a decent loyalty scheme. Join MyJohnLewis and get a free hot drink and cake from their in=store café as a thank you for joining.

You can also get a £5 off £50 spend voucher at this moment in time as well!
