NEW: £20 Referral Offer

I was banging on about Zopa’s current account a number of months ago and for good reason, I transferred a number of my direct debits across to it and started using their savings account as it beat what I was using before

Here’s the set-up:

Premium Bond Prize Rate Going Up

I am not a massive fan of Premium Bonds unless you are an additional rate taxpayer and have maximised ISA and pension contributions because this is the only time they are typically “worth” using in my opinion

However, NS&I who provide the product have announced that from 1 July they will be increasing the prize rate from 3.3% to 3.8%

This rate is a benchmark of the average amount you may earn back in prizes when holding Premium Bonds, however, for the majority it is unlikely you will actually receive anything as larger prizes skew the maths on this

£367 million owed by NS&I

NS&I have also started sending letters in the past week to families who may have relatives who have passed away with NS&I savings accounts that were not released to the estate of said relative

This is believed to impact 34,000 estates and if you receive a letter in relation to this it will set out the next steps; however, there is a risk that scammers will hijack this and send out letters - if unsure call the NS&I helpline to confirm receipt of the letter (use their online helpline)

FREE (?) football shirt from ASDA?

ASDA have launched a new advertising campaign in time for the World Cup where you can return an official football shirt if your team do not progress, here’s how it works:

• Only official England or Scotland football shirts purchased from ASDA will be eligible for this campaign

• Shirts can be purchased between 18 May 2026 and the date of the team’s elimination and you must keep the receipt

• You must return the shirt within 24 hours of the loss that means they will not progress to the final

• You will receive a gift card for ASDA to the value of the original purchase, no alternative

Birthday Treat from Harvey Nichols

Harvey Nichols is probably not on everyone’s (including mine) list of shops that you visit regularly - however, they are offering free birthday treats depending on how much you spend with them through their Harvey Nichols REWARDS scheme:

• Spend up to £2k /yr - get a free hot drink, pastry or bonus points

• Spend £2k - £10k /yr - get free champagne, beauty gift or other

• Spend £10k+ /yr - get a bespoke experience or discounted/ free hamper

Obviously not one for everyone, but worth looking at if you are likely to spend this sort of level…

2% Cashback with Chase (tomorrow)

From 1 June, Chase are upping their cashback offering to 2% from 1% when you use your debit or credit card PROVIDED you make 15+ payments using your card per month and hold £1,000+ across your Chase savers in the prior month…

You can get 2% back on:

• Groceries

• Restaurants & cafés

• Takeaways

• Convenience stores

• Travel and EV charging

• Fuel

The cashback is capped at £20 per month and whilst this is obviously good news for those who use Chase, I would say that the debit card spending can be beaten by using cashback apps such as EverUp on all of the above apart from fuel, EV charging and convenience/ local stores

FREE Corn snack for Sky Customers

Sky have been releasing weekly gifts for their Sky VIP customers (simply download the MySky app and you’ll get access)

This week you can get a FREE bag of LoveCorn corn snacks - this does not work at small high street stores

You only get 60 minutes to scan the barcode from activating it so don’t activate too early and assume you’ll need help from a colleague as they can be temperamental to scan yourselves! I would recommend heading to a self-scan till rather than a scan as you shop till as the barcode readers are more receptive of the moving barcodes!

Robinhood - Free Share worth up to $175

Klarna - FREE £25

It is no secret that I do not love Klarna, their overall tactics and position in the Buy Now Pay Later market is something that doesn’t sit right with me

However, they have launched a new debit card referral scheme which is worth looking at in isolation

This works for existing customers who do not have a debit card with them

How to get £25

1. Message me “KLARNA” on Instagram for a referral link

2. Enter your email address at the link I send you

3. Create an account and sign up for the Klarna Card

4. Add this card to a digital wallet (Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.)

5. Spend £5+ 3 times with the card

   • Top-ups no longer work and this must be made up of legitimate spending (I suggest splitting your grocery shop into 3 transactions at the self-checkout)

6. You will receive £10 into your “cashback” pot

7. Redeem this into your card

8. Message me when you’ve done this and I will pay you £15 on top

9. You can then spend the £10 on the card or top up Revolut, etc and close the account should you wish

10. You should also be able to refer your family and friends to complete the same, earning £40 per referral (capped at 10)

According to Klarna’s own terms and conditions, there will be no impact on your credit score when applying for the Klarna Card which is a debit card product
