Yes, you read that right and it is a very cheeky offer although will only work if you don’t have the ASDA Rewards app on your phone!

If you already do, but your partner doesn’t you could always get them to do it for you…

This is something I like to call “The Onion Method”

Of course, you could simply do your normal shopping in ASDA to trigger this, but I’m ALL about maximising value and have done this a number of times:

1. Download the app for the first time and make sure it’s working

2. Visit ASDA and locate the cheapest item you can (this will usually be a small loose onion - the best I’ve ever got was closer to the size of a grape and cost just 5p)

3. Head to the till and scan your ASDA Rewards app when you pay

4. You will receive a £5 bonus into your cash pot almost instantly which you can then use in-store!

THE TRUTH BEHIND OFFERS…

You might have noticed in recent weeks that a number of other similar Instagram accounts have been posting heavily about the app MyGuava which gives you £5 for free when you sign up

I am all for sharing offers with you where it’s a win-win (you earn, I earn) or where only you get something out of it (e.g PensionBee offer above)

However, part of my process before sharing anything is to do background checks on what I’m sharing with you. This includes:

• What is the aim of the app/ website/ business?

• Who owns the app/ website/ business?

• How safe is it?

• Does it do what it’s supposed to?

• Does it work every time?

• What is the customer service like?

Now, I’m not making any specific statements about the app here (it’s just an example of one I’m not sharing) but there have been lots of reports of MyGuava refusing to pay out the £5 after you sign up

The customer service has also not been particularly helpful for many I’ve spoken with (including strangers online who used other’s links) and accounts seem to be declined for no reason

Why am I telling you this?

It might seem like I am always coming to you with lots of offers but I just wanted to let you know that what you see is probably only 50% of what is available and the rest simply doesn’t meet my standards.
