£5 Cashback for supermarkets

With payday right around the corner, I know funds can get tight and this is the easiest way to get £5 off your shopping at the moment!

Cheddar is a cashback app similar to EverUp and JamDoughnut, but does not typically have the best cashback rates

It works exactly the same, where you purchase a gift card for the supermarket in advance and then pay with the gift card at the till, earning cashback in the process which accumulates in the app

Well they are offering 5% at Tesco right now which is pretty good going but the real kicker is the £5 bonus you can get using my code!

Download the “Cheddar” app and use code “ENGINE3” when signing up, as soon as you purchase your first gift card you will receive your £5 bonus on top of any cashback you earn

This can be withdrawn to your bank almost instantly!

Why I Don’t Share ALL Offers!

You might have seen a few offers doing the rounds which at face-value seem quite worthwhile, however you may be wondering why I haven’t shared them. Here’s why

iFast GB (2% cashback)

iFast GB is a new-ish banking app for the UK that is offering 2% cashback on debit card spending of £2,000 per month (max £40/month)

They are also doing a referral offer that pays £5 for newbies which sounds good and could (arguably) net me a good amount of income from referrals

This seems good as the Chase 1% cashback offer recently ended

Whilst it is FCA authorised and a UK licensed bank, my personal opinions from testing suggest that the app is a bit sticky and I wouldn’t be comfortable putting large amounts of cash through this app for generally low returns

The bulk of their audience is based through their overseas operations, and it might be worth you testing it out but my personal viewpoint is:

• General supermarket cashback: >4% available via EverUp, JamDoughnut or Cheddar

• Bills cashback: 1% cashback available via Santander Edge

• Other cashback: 0.5% cashback available via SumUp Pay

Zopa Current Account

If you don’t receive cashback on your bills (paid by direct debit) then it might be worth looking at the Zopa current account as a starting point

Zopa are a British bank who have been going since 2005 and became a full bank back in 2020, their current account offers:

• 2% cashback on £1,500 of direct debits per year (£125 /month)

• 2% interest on your balance

• Access to a 7.5% regular saver (up to £300 /month)

I haven’t personally spoken about this one before as I think there are better options available in the form of Santander’s Edge account or Nationwide’s FlexDirect account (lower rates, but more reputable)
