CLOSURE OF THE ZING APP

I’m just popping this at the top as I know it was one of the most popular deals of 2024 paying £30 each and making many of you £100s!

Zing was an app created by HSBC to compete with the likes of Revolut and Wise, and they were pumping a lot of money into it

Alongside the referral offer which was very generous, it was also a great app for spending abroad and offered good rates

This week, Zing have released a statement confirming that HSBC’s strategy has changed and they will be closing the Zing app on 2 April 2025

What to do

There is plenty of time between now and then and it is super simple to move any money left in your Zing account to a bank account using the app (took me about 15 seconds when I did this on Friday)

If you were using this for preferential rates whilst travelling abroad I would recommend looking at Chase as a good alternative going forwards as you can also bag 1% cashback for jumping through a few hoops!

TSB Launch New Bank Switch Offer Worth Up To £190

TSB have added their brand new bank switching offer to the list of ongoing bank switching offers and this is pretty similar to their most recent one

It is a bit of a drawn out affair but pays £100 upfront (+£30 if you go through a cashback website) and then £10 per month for 6 months if you jump through some hoops

The one that sets this apart from others is in August if you spend 20+ times on the card you can get a free gift including a stay for 2 at a hotel

Webull is an investing app with 20 million+ customers around the world and launched in the UK a little while ago

Whilst it may not be the easiest investing app to use and isn’t one I personally use that frequently, their referral offer is very good and you can get $30 - $3,000 in total

Waitrose Bring Back Free Coffee For All

Waitrose used to offer free coffees to MyWaitrose customers regardless of whether they were shopping in-store that day, but changed the rules so you had to make a purchase to get a free coffee

Well, from Monday 27 January 2025, they have scrapped this rule and MyWaitrose customers can now get 1 x free hot drink per day with no purchase needed provided you bring a reusable cup

It’s free to join and if you have a store nearby and a reusable cup could mean 7 x free hot drinks every single week!

£20 Off Your Mortgage When You Buy A £50 Gift Card

Sprive is an app that earns you cashback much like apps such as EverUp and JamDoughnut but instead of giving you the cashback it lets you use it to overpay your mortgage when you link it

Until 31 January 2025, if you purchase a £50 supermarket voucher you will receive £20 to use against your mortgage so long as:

• You have a home or an active mortgage

• You have not used Shop with Sprive 3 months beforehand
