M&S Sparks Card - Big Changes?

The Sparks Card has been an interesting topic over recent years given it provides very little reward for a loyalty card when compared to its peers such as the Clubcard or Nectar card

This week, M&S announced that it was changing how the Sparks card works - here’s a new blog post breaking down how it works

Starling - £25 FREE - ENDS FRIDAY

If I have sent you a referral code I would be exceptionally grateful if you could let me know if you have completed the offer yet

If you have asked for a referral code but haven’t used it yet, you have until Friday 24 April and then your opportunity to earn the £25 disappears as Starling pause the scheme

Here’s how it works:

You will be eligible for this offer provided you have not had a Starling account before and are not currently a Starling customer

1. Message me for a Starling referral code

2. Download the Starling app and open an account, entering the referral code provided when prompted

   Do not apply for an overdraft, if you do you will have a hard credit search - this doesn’t happen if you don’t ask for one

3. Order a physical card (it’s free)

4. Add your physical card to Apple Pay or Google Pay so you can use it sooner

5. Use your card (physical or virtual) to spend £1+*

6. You’ll get £25 within 24 hours

*Gambling and abnormal transactions such as top-ups and similar do not count, a small spend in-store at a supermarket should do the trick!

Yonder - £10 FREE

Yonder have been around for a while now and I am happy to share this offer now that they have branched into debit cards!

Generally, the Yonder cards are a good concept but are overall not that worthwhile for much other than the referral offer (as far as I am concerned)

Here’s how it works:

1. Message me for a Yonder referral link on Instagram

2. Apply for a Yonder debit card (the credit card will do a hard check)

3. Choose a free membership to avoid any charges

4. Top up your account with £10+

5. Spend £10+ on groceries, restaurants, coffee shops, pubs, entertainment, flights or hotels within 7 days

Yonder is a card membership that rewards you with points when you spend, points can be exchanged for experiences, etc. and is aimed at people in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Bath and Edinburgh so far but you can do this offer to test it out no matter where you are based

I tested this out by spending £10+ in Sainsbury’s and the £10 was back on the card before I left the shop!

Revolut and its banking licence

Revolut may have received its banking licence recently BUT your funds may not be covered by the FSCS protection yet as they are still migrating customers from Revolut Ltd to Revolut Bank UK Ltd

Therefore, if you have a large amount of money sat in your Revolut account it is worth running a statement in the app and there should be a line that confirms whether your money is currently FSCS protected

This week you can get a FREE tub of Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference ice cream - this does not work at small high street stores

You only get 60 minutes to scan the barcode from activating it so don’t activate too early and assume you’ll need help from a colleague as they can be temperamental to scan yourselves! I would recommend heading to a self-scan till rather than a scan as you shop till as the barcode readers are more receptive of the moving barcodes!
