BANK SWITCHING BONANZA

This week we have been treated to not just one, but TWO brand new bank switching offers - and they are pretty juicy!

NATIONWIDE BANK SWITCH (£200)

This offer is for existing customers only, but you can get £200 cash for switching a non-Nationwide current account to them

The real kicker for this offer is that you can get £200 for switching an individual current account AND a joint current account!

TSB BANK SWITCH (£200 + REWARDS)

TSB have famously made their switching offer complicated and this time isn’t much better, but it’s not worth ruling out as you can get this to be well worthwhile:

• £100 cash for switching to TSB

• £40 cashback if you go through TopCashback or Quidco

• £10/ month cashback for 6 months if you use your card 20+ times

• Free reward of your choice for 20+ card spends in December ‘24

NEW CASHBACK APP?

For the last few years, my favourite cashback app has been JamDoughnut, with me recently fluctuating between Cheddar and them dependant on who has the highest rates!

However, there is another app that has moved into the cashback space, using gift cards in the way that both of these two do.

The app is called EverUp and originally started life as a sort of free prize app where you could win various prizes but like I say has now moved into cashback on 140+ brands and the rates are REALLY GOOD…

£100 PAYMENT FROM NATIONWIDE?

As well as announcing the new bank switching offer this week, Nationwide have announced that they will be giving £385 million away to 3.85 million customers (£100 each)

Not all Nationwide customers will be receiving this payment, so it’s well worth checking if you are eligible (full details below!)

ABSOLUTE LAST CHANCE FOR £20

FirstDirect belongs to the HSBC group and so does ZING, the new finance app similar to Revolut & Monzo that lets you top up a debit card in dozens of currencies (seems like a good option for holiday spending!)

It is actually a pretty solid app, as you’d expect from HSBC but they’ve sweetened the deal with their new referral offer:

1. Message me or email me the word “ZING” and I’ll send you my referral link (they’re capped and I don’t want people missing out!)

2. Follow the link and enter your mobile number

3. Download the app and sign up with the same mobile number

4. Verify your ID and top up your account with £5 or more

5. Use your physical or virtual card to spend £5 or more in one transaction

6. Within 30 days you will receive £20 cash into your ZING account!

You can also then refer your friends to repeat the above steps with your link and you’ll both get £20

This is one of the easiest offers I have seen in a long time and considering it’s backed by one of the world’s largest banks, it’s well worth your time!

TESCO CLUBCARD CHALLENGES

We also saw the launch of “Clubcard Challenges” for 3 million Clubcard customers this week which may enable you to earn up to £50 in bonus points from 20 May 2024 (not all customers are eligible!)

You’ll need to check your Tesco app (or search your emails) to pick 10 challenges from the available 20 and everyone’s challenges will be unique depending on your spending habits

By spending certain amounts in each category you choose, you will earn bonus Clubcard points at each milestone - an example from mine is for food on the go (e.g meal deals):

• Spend £39 - get 590 clubcard points

• Spend £53 - get 1,060 clubcard points

• Spend £67 - get 1,680 clubcard points

The most you will be able to earn from the 10 chosen challenges is £50 of clubcard points although if used at one of Tesco’s “Reward Partners” these could be worth £100 for Pizza Express, Cineworld, etc.

HALF TERM SAVINGS!

The upcoming week marks half term for millions of families across the UK, and it can be an expensive time to keep the kids entertained!

As always, there are some great offers to be had that can help with this burden - here are some of the best ones that I have found so far:

• ASDA - Under 16s eat in the café for £1 all week with no minimum spend. Plus get free Ella’s Kitchen baby food pouches for those under 18 months.

• IKEA - Kids can get mac & cheese or pasta & tomato sauce, a soft drink and a piece of fruit for just 95p. All other kids’ meals for £1.50.

• Sainsbury’s - Get a kid’s hot main meal or lunch bag for £1 with the purchase of any adult hot meal in the café (starts at £5.29)

• Morrison’s - Under 16s eat for free when an adult spends £4.50 or more on a meal in Morrison’s cafés.

• Tesco - Free meal deal (sandwich, fruit, two snacks + a drink) with every adult purchase in the café.

• Dunelm - Get a free kid’s main meal, two snacks + a drink for every £4 adult spend in in-store Pausa cafés after 3pm.

• Hungry Horse - Every Monday, selected kids’ meals cost £1 with each full-paying adult

• Bella Italia - Get a kids’ 3 course meal for just £1 with every adult main meal bought Monday - Thursday (4pm - 6pm)

• Premier Inn - Get 2 x Under 16s free breakfasts for each adult’s full Premier Inn breakfast

• McDonalds - Available for all; mix and match 3 items out of a selection of 9 for just £3 for the 3 (some serious savings available with this one)
