I can’t quite believe that we are 30 weeks into 2024, when it seems like just yesterday we started on our mission to earn an extra £5k back in January!

£50 OF TESCO CLUBCARD POINTS?

After a successful trial run in May, Tesco has launched a new round of its “Clubcard Challenges” which were available to 3 million of us last time

If you were eligible to participate last time, you will be again this time & if you weren’t then it’s worth checking as it has been slightly expanded

Check your emails or your Tesco/Clubcard app to see if that’s you!

How it works

There will be a number of challenges you can pick from which are tailored based on your usual spending

Pick 10 from the list that you think you will spend on anyway and receive bonus clubcard points once you reach certain spend amounts on each challenge

Last time this was on, I bagged £10 of extra Clubcard points for spending as I normally would have AND don’t forget that when you spend at Tesco you should also be getting cashback too (I’m using EverUp more recently)

Check if you can get bonus clubcard points & start saving!

SHOP AT SAINSBURY’S?

Selected customers can also get some bonus Nectar points through a similar scheme that Sainsbury’s are offering (although it’s far less available)

Double-check your Nectar app to see if you are eligible & again don’t forget to combine your loyalty points with cashback apps!

FAMILY DAY OUT FOR £1?

You’ll have to be quick on this one as it ends today (21 July) but if you get your hands on a copy of the Daily Star (95p), Daily Mirror (£1.50) or Daily Express (£1.50) you will find a National Trust Family Pass in the paper

You can then use this pass to enter a National Trust property before 1 September (excluding the Bank Holiday weekend) & it can be used for up to 2 adults & 3 children

Some sites are excluded, and you may need to book in advance for more popular locations. When this is needed, enter “REACHSUMMER2024” in place of your membership number

You must bring the paper voucher to the site alongside email confirmation

GOING ABROAD? MY TOP TIPS!

With the Summer Holidays having landed, many of you will be going abroad

Here are my top money tips for your holidays:

Check when your passport was issued, all passports should be:

• Less than 10 years old when you enter the country, AND

• Have 3 months left on them (EU) or 6 months (Other)

Make sure you aren’t getting stung for using cards abroad, my top recommendations for low or no-fee spending would be:

• Chase (1% Cashback if you’re new to the bank)

• Zing (£20 Cash for spending on the card once)

• First Direct (£175 + £36.75 for switching to them)

Always do your research on which ones are best for you!

Make sure you have travel insurance from the date you book the trip. It’s hopefully something you won’t need to use, but if you fall ill before you go and haven’t got insurance, you won’t be covered!

AND grab a quote through Compare The Market to get 2 for 1 cinema tickets even if you don’t buy a policy!

ALWAYS look for cashback on what you are booking, you might be able to get small amounts back by going through Quidco, TopCashback or Rakuten for no extra cost

Know your rights on refunds when it comes to delays!

It’s key to know that “extreme circumstances” won’t be covered, which I’m guessing will be the answer on the recent IT issues this weekend HOWEVER, you should be aware of what you can receive in terms of refunds, compensation, etc. if your flights are delayed
