EVEN CHEAPER VEGGIES…

Last week we were speculating about the cheap veggies which should now be all you can see as you walk into any British supermarket, however we have had some shockingly good news:

ASDA has cut their prices even lower than everywhere else to just 8p!

• 2kg potatoes

• 1kg carrots

• 500g sprouts

• 360g broccoli

• 500g parsnips

Not near an ASDA? Morrisons More card customers can get the following veggies for just 10p:

• 1kg carrots

• 500g parsnips

• 500g sprouts

• Whole swede

These are the two cheapest places to get your vegetables this Christmas, with Tesco, Aldi, Lidl & Sainsbury’s selling at 15p

SAVING ON LAST MINUTE GIFTS

Chances are, you are probably more organised than me and sorted all of your Christmas gifts months ago. However… if not, then here’s how to make sure you aren’t overpaying for gifts:

DEAL STACKING

Even if what you want to buy isn’t on sale, we can get it cheaper by stacking multiple cashback methods at once

1. Check where the highest cashback rate is online

   • Topcashback (tap for info)

2. See if you can get a cashback gift card*

3. Purchase the gift card with a cashback card

   • I use Chase to get another 1% on top

IKEA MEMBERSHIP POINTS

You might already be aware of this but a few months ago, IKEA quietly rolled out a points system for their loyalty scheme

Therefore, if you have recently shopped at IKEA you may have some points already, but if not you can earn 3 points per week for logging in and creating and saving a wish list

You won’t see anything groundbreaking but you can get some good cheap deals for the points, including:

• 10p for a slice of Daim cake (22 points)

• 50p for a cooked breakfast (33 points)

• 50p for a cooked meal (45 points)

• And so on, including £40 off (500 points)

VANGUARD FEE INCREASE

In the last few weeks, Vanguard announced that they will be increasing their fees to £4 per month which is fine for people with £32,000 or more in their portfolios as this means they will still pay 0.15% in fees

However, for anyone else then this is going to eat into your gains

So I have written a quick blog post about what this means and the next best alternative for those of us with smaller portfolios in Vanguard
